What actions did King Jehoshaphat take?

Jehoshaphat removed the altars of the god Baal and the idols from Judah. He wanted the people to become familiar with Jehovah’s laws, so he sent princes and Levites throughout the land to teach them. Before the battle, he gathered the people—men, women, and children—to pray to Jehovah. He also appointed singers to go ahead of the army, praising Jehovah as they marched toward the battlefield.

How did Jehovah protect the people of Judah?

Jehoshaphat acknowledged that he needed Jehovah’s help, so he prayed: “Jehovah, without you we cannot win this battle. Please tell us what we should do.” Jehovah heard his prayer and replied: “Do not be afraid; I will help you. Take your positions, stand still, and see how I will save you.”

No, it likely was not easy. The Israelite girl was far from her home and family and served the wife of an army commander named Naaman. She worshipped Jehovah and lived among people who did not. Even so, she spoke up because she wanted to help Naaman and knew that Jehovah could do so through the prophet Elisha.

Her faith and trust in Jehovah gave her courage. She was convinced that Jehovah could heal Naaman through the prophet Elisha, and her love for Jehovah and for others motivated her to speak.
